Language, Literature, and the Art of Teaching English
My name is Werner Kuhn. I am an English teacher and language professional based in Taiwan, with a Master’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literature. I am currently completing a PhD in English Literature and TEFL Studies — a programme that keeps me at the intersection of literary scholarship, applied linguistics, and the craft of teaching.
I founded Werner English Studio to offer something different from the crowded test-prep market: personalised coaching grounded in genuine expertise. My students range from university applicants preparing for IELTS or TOEFL, to working professionals seeking immigration pathways or career advancement, to graduate school candidates who need GRE Verbal results that reflect their intellectual potential.
My teaching philosophy is simple: clarity, consistency, and high expectations. I do not believe in quick fixes or generic strategies. Every student I work with receives a programme tailored to their current level, their target score, and their timeline. Sessions are conducted online or in person in Taiwan, and materials are always provided.
