Is the IELTS writing check really free?
Yes. There is no payment. The exchange is that you receive one focused review and give Werner English Studio permission to use an anonymised version of your writing in a YouTube teaching video. One submission per student is accepted while places are available.
Can I submit IELTS Writing Task 1 or Task 2?
Yes. You can submit Academic Task 1, General Training Task 1, or Task 2 from either test. Include the complete question. Academic Task 1 students should also attach the chart, graph, map, process, or other visual when possible.
Will my name appear on YouTube?
No. Your name, email, and identifying details will not be shown. The lesson may quote or display all or part of your response after those details have been removed or changed.
Will I receive newsletter or promotional emails?
Only if you choose the optional email box on the submission form. You can receive the free writing check without joining the mailing list, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
Is the estimated band an official IELTS score?
No. The estimate is educational guidance from Werner English Studio. Only an official IELTS test can produce an official band score.
Can I withdraw permission?
Yes. Email Werner before the video is published and identify your submission by the name and email address you used. Permission for that unpublished use will be withdrawn. Requests made after publication will be reviewed, but removal from copies, shares, or caches outside Werner English Studio's control cannot be guaranteed.
Will every submission become a video?
No. Some responses contain useful patterns for a public lesson and others do not. You still receive the agreed writing check if your eligible submission is accepted, whether or not it later appears in a video.
