The terms governing use of this website, the booking system, and tutoring sessions.

This is a standard boilerplate template, not something drafted or reviewed by a lawyer. It's a reasonable starting point for a small tutoring practice, but if you want it to hold up to real scrutiny, have it checked by someone qualified in Taiwan consumer/service law before treating it as final.
By using this website (wernerkuhn.org), booking a session through it, or engaging Werner Kühn / Werner English Studio ("I," "me," or "the Studio") for tutoring services, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the booking system or the services described here.
The Studio provides English-language tutoring, including but not limited to IELTS and TOEFL exam preparation, Business English coaching, and general one-on-one English instruction, delivered online (via Zoom or similar) or in person as arranged. Free trial sessions are offered to new students at the length and terms shown on the booking page at the time of booking.
Sessions are booked through the booking page and confirmed by email, which includes a link you can use to cancel your own booking at any time before the session. If you need to reschedule rather than cancel, contact me directly using the details below. I reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a session on my end where necessary (illness, an emergency, a technical failure), and will make reasonable efforts to notify you as early as possible and offer an alternative time.
Pricing and payment arrangements are discussed and confirmed directly with each student rather than published on this site, and are agreed before regular (non-trial) sessions begin. Free trial sessions carry no charge. Specific payment terms, including any cancellation or no-show policy tied to paid sessions, will be communicated directly and may be set out in a separate agreement between the Studio and the student (or a parent/guardian, where the student is a minor).
Tutoring is intended to build genuine language ability, exam strategy, and confidence. However, exam outcomes (including specific IELTS, TOEFL, or GEPT band scores) depend on many factors outside the Studio's control, including a student's own preparation, practice, and performance on the day. No specific score, grade, or outcome is guaranteed by these sessions, this website, or any associated materials.
All course materials, worksheets, video content, blog posts, and other original content provided through this website, the Werner English Studio YouTube channel, or during sessions remain the intellectual property of Werner Kühn / Werner English Studio. Materials are provided for your personal use as a student and are not to be reproduced, redistributed, or resold without permission.
You agree to use this website and booking system honestly — providing accurate contact details when booking, and not attempting to disrupt, overload, or misuse the site or its booking system.
Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian is responsible for making the booking, agreeing to these terms on the student's behalf, and arranging payment.
The website and booking system are provided on an "as is" basis. While reasonable care is taken to keep the site and booking system accurate and functioning, the Studio is not liable for temporary unavailability, technical errors, or indirect losses arising from use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable law.
These terms may be updated from time to time as the services or website change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or booking system after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
