Send me one IELTS Writing Task 1 or Task 2 response. I will read it, identify the mistakes that matter most, and show you what to work on next. In return, you give me permission to teach from an anonymous version of your writing in a Werner English Studio YouTube video.

What you receive. What you agree to.

Anonymous does not mean unclear. You should know exactly what I will give you and how your writing may be used before you submit it.

Your free writing check

I will focus on the issues most likely to affect your IELTS Writing performance. This is a diagnostic review rather than full line-by-line proofreading.

  • An informal estimated band range
  • Your three most important improvement priorities
  • Selected corrections from your own sentences
  • One practical next step for your next response

Your permission

You allow Werner English Studio to quote, annotate, edit, and discuss all or part of an anonymous version of your response in a YouTube teaching video. The video may be monetised.

  • Your name and email will not appear
  • Other identifying details will be removed
  • Your submission may not be selected for a video
  • You may withdraw permission before publication

Please remove personal information from the task prompt and your response before submitting. I may change harmless details when anonymising the writing. A task image is used to understand your response and will not be reproduced in a video unless I have separate permission to use it.

Three simple steps.

Submit one complete response

Choose Task 1 or Task 2, include the full question, and paste writing that is entirely your own. Task 1 needs at least 150 words; Task 2 needs at least 250.

I review the writing

I read the response against the four IELTS Writing criteria, then select the corrections and practice advice that will help you most.

You receive the check by email

I reply to the address you provide. If the response suits a future lesson, I may later teach from an anonymised version on YouTube.

The four IELTS Writing criteria.

A grammar correction is useful only when you understand its effect on the whole response. I organise the review around the same four areas used in IELTS Writing.

Task achievement or task response

Whether your answer addresses the question, selects the right information, and develops its main points.

Coherence and cohesion

Whether the reader can follow your organisation, paragraphing, references, and connections between ideas.

Lexical resource

Whether your vocabulary is accurate, natural, flexible, and appropriate for the task.

Grammatical range and accuracy

Whether your sentence structures show enough range and control without repeated errors obscuring the meaning.

Give me enough context to check it properly.

The question matters. Without it, I cannot judge whether a response actually completes the task.

  • One submission per student while places are available.
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Use your own writing. Copied or AI-written responses are not eligible.
  • The feedback is educational and is not an official IELTS result.

Free IELTS writing check FAQ.

Is the IELTS writing check really free?

Yes. There is no payment. The exchange is that you receive one focused review and give Werner English Studio permission to use an anonymised version of your writing in a YouTube teaching video. One submission per student is accepted while places are available.

Can I submit IELTS Writing Task 1 or Task 2?

Yes. You can submit Academic Task 1, General Training Task 1, or Task 2 from either test. Include the complete question. Academic Task 1 students should also attach the chart, graph, map, process, or other visual when possible.

Will my name appear on YouTube?

No. Your name, email, and identifying details will not be shown. The lesson may quote or display all or part of your response after those details have been removed or changed.

Will I receive newsletter or promotional emails?

Only if you choose the optional email box on the submission form. You can receive the free writing check without joining the mailing list, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Is the estimated band an official IELTS score?

No. The estimate is educational guidance from Werner English Studio. Only an official IELTS test can produce an official band score.

Can I withdraw permission?

Yes. Email Werner before the video is published and identify your submission by the name and email address you used. Permission for that unpublished use will be withdrawn. Requests made after publication will be reviewed, but removal from copies, shares, or caches outside Werner English Studio's control cannot be guaranteed.

Will every submission become a video?

No. Some responses contain useful patterns for a public lesson and others do not. You still receive the agreed writing check if your eligible submission is accepted, whether or not it later appears in a video.
